About Soma Peterson, R.N., B.S.N., C.C.S.T

Within every living person is “the breath of life,” a very real, silent force that moves in soft rhythms throughout the Cranial-sacral system. This nourishing energy also travels beyond that system to inspire and give balance to your body, mind, and spirit. Call and discuss how I can work with you. ~ Soma

Being still comes naturally to me. I grew up on a big farm at the base of Washington’s Olympic Mountains and spent my youth outdoors, exploring nearby fields, forests, and foothills. With no neighbors nearby, I learned early to appreciate the pastoral setting, this safe place where I could go and “be still” to observe all the life, its spirituality, and the harmony within it.

Here is also where I first noticed I had a unique gift for understanding what was innate and fluid in our world—as well as what was not. I observed nature. I paid attention to what was around me. And I learned some important truths that then played a role in the professional path I eventually chose first as a nurse and healthcare practitioner.

After earning a nursing degree at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington, I spent 10 years on the road as a travel nurse, offering my talents and skills to hospitals and patients wherever I was needed most. Specializing in obstetric care, I was fortunate to serve as an OB nurse, helping mothers deliver and providing post-partum guidance and support.

However, in 2013, my perspectives on “health” changed forever after a transformative cranial sacral treatment. The intense healing and sense of peace I experienced from this light touch manual therapy immediately became a catalyst for personal change. In this turning point, I realized this very style of integrated, holistic healthcare was something I wanted and had to learn. So I did.

Now, a licensed cranial sacral practitioner with a degree from The Therapeutic Training Center in Seattle, I’m maximizing my innate talents, traditional-nursing know-how, and my more recently acquired holistic skills to deliver highly unique cranial sacral treatments. At my practice in Hood River, Oregon, I meet with patients and use my gift for “being still” and observant to hear the rhythms of their bodies. Through these treatments—and in our stillness together—my patients and I find the solution that allows their bodies to achieve balance and heal.

In addition to being highly intuitive, I am fully committed to my patients. I simply care a lot so have dedicated my life to providing people with fulfilling experiences in health and well being.

My greatest hope is that next person will be you!
